Wellness Tips for the Week

Came across this definition the other day of wellness.

Wellness; the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal.

It stopped me dead in my tracks and I have been thinking about it ever sense. I love that it’s saying, wellness is an active pursuit. You don’t achieve wellness and then you are done, but rather a journey you are always on. With this thought I started looking around my every day life to see where I am actively pursuing my overall wellness.

The first actively I saw wellness living in my life was working outside with my kids. Once we moved into this house, we all were excited to have a big backyard and work on it all together as a family. It brings us together, and provides a lot of grounding as we pull weeds and put the work into creating a beautiful backyard. All my kids are proud of the work and love checking on our little garden.

Taking time for my ME is a form of wellness that has been slower to develop. Over the years I learned if I don’t stop and take care of myself, I can’t do a good job taking care of my kids. I learned to slow down and prioritize time for ME.

My favorite things to do for myself is take a hot bath, meditate, read or head out to Starbucks to grab my favorite midday pick me up. I also have lots of  dance parties in my car and love meeting up with a girlfriends for a quick drink and appetizers.

Here are some of my favorite Starbucks drinks:

-Iced coffee with 2 pumps sugar free caramel

-A new summer fav., Summer Peach Iced tea. So good.

-Skinny Vanilla Latte.

Another big part of my over all wellness comes with my skincare routine. You all know how important this topic is to me, and I hope my tips have helped you feel and see the difference in your skin as well. My love for Colleen Rothschild is huge. I have been a fan of theirs forever. I was so happy when these Glycolic Acid Peel Pads came back. My skin feels so good with them and don’t forget to turn them over and do your hands.

Taking my liquid collagen daily has also been part of my active pursuit to wellness. This supplement will forever be in my life. I have seen such amazing results and have never felt better.

Here is what I take:

-2 tablespoons of PURE Liquid Collagen a day


-If I am taking trim. I will take 1 tablespoon of PURE and 1 tablespoon of TRIM a day.

The last point I want to talk about it finding joy in the little things. Life is hard and staying connected with your mind, body and spirit is very important to me.  When my soul is happy, I feel good and want to keep trying to be a better person. Wellness is so much more than being in shape and eating healthy. It is a state of mind, a way of life. I love this journey I am on, and love sharing my little ways I am pursuing wellness with you all.
