travel

As some of you saw today on instagram, I’m planning a few sunny trips right now so the New York winter won’t seem so long in February.  Thank you for all your comments on instagram and for letting me know your favorite places to go with kids. I’m really excited about traveling this year. So far I’m thinking Costa Rica, Seaside Florida and Turks & Caicos. These are the 3 I’m checking out so far. Let me know if I’m missing anything I have to do!

I recently discovered a new designer who makes the perfect items for sunny vacations.  I LOVE the line of cover-ups and dresses. I will definitely take some of these cover-ups with me. I’ve been wearing this top to the beach and my kids call it my cha cha TOP  🙂 It’s fun and easy to throw over a swimsuit.

Also my favoriteDenim Shorts (50% off)  are finally on sale! Get them now and save them for when you need them. I’ve had mine almost a year and still wear them all the time. I just added these because they are 33% off and really fun to wear.

I really want to add these to my collection at 33% off too!

Leg workouts

Okay so if you asked me 2 years ago about my legs I would tell you that they were the worst part of my body. I never thought my legs could be strong. And if they were strong I thought they would look bulky and squatty. Last year I met a trainer that completely changed my mind about this. – Greg Watson is his name. He encouraged me to squat and lunge EVERY SINGLE DAY! My legs started to change and turn into a sculpted shape I never thought my legs could be. I’m not saying I have the best legs but they are the best for me. 🙂 I didn’t change pant sizes but my legs just looked different in my jeans. Overall I felt tighter and strong.

This is my weekly routine-

MWF- standing lunges 3 sets of 20 with 5 pound weights in each hand, squats 3 sets of 25, then lunges with one foot up on the bench so it’s elevated. Hold a 10lb weight. 3 sets of 15

cardio – I love incline treadmill walking because I have an injured knee or stair climber (but always 30 minutes)

T& TH – soul cycle or cycle class

  1. My husband and I went to Costa Rica two years ago and are planning to go back and take our kids. We want to teach them how to surf in Tamarindo. Its on our list of places to take the kids. It is absolutely beautiful. If you go you need to see both the rainforest and the beaches. We stayed at The Springs in the rainforest and it was awesome!

  2. Hey there! Go to Turks!! That’s all I have to say 🙂 My husband was the first, along with his companion, to open Turks for missionary work for the church and when we went back for our honeymoon I fell in love. The most beautiful, simple, and sweet island you could visit. You will not regret it I promise! And if you get a chance…visit the branch, I’ve never felt a sweeter spirit. Hope that’s ok to include on the comment! Have fun planning your trips!

  3. Hello! We have a place in Seagrove (the town next to Seaside) and if you are looking for tropical temps/beach weather in the winter it will not be quite warm enough, it’s really far North in FL. It will certainly be warmer than NYC but Turks or CR would be more tropical 🙂 Seaside is a must any other season!
