It’s summer!! My girls and I love to spend our evenings at the beach exploring and being active. We also love to be comfortable and stylish at the same time. We are crazy in love with ivivva by lululemon, activewear for girls. All the bright and bold patterns will have you hooked this summer. The fit and quality is absolute perfection. You and your kids will find excuses to wear them to every single activity you have!
One thing that I love during the summer months are all the opportunities to get outside and be active as a family. We also travel quite a bit during the summer months and I have some tips to help you and your family stay active while spending quality time together. These tips will help you stay active all summer long…..
1.The most important way to stay active is to have ACTIVE CLOTHING!! Nothing gets you going like great clothes. Kids feel the same! If you have good attire to walk around in & exercise in, you’ll stay active! I’m loving lululemon for adults and the ivivva line for girls. I think I own every single color in the lululemon ALIGN LEGGING. They are the most light-weight legging you will wear but also have the capability of shaping your legs! I’m hooked for life. My girls love the RHYTHMIC GIRL LEGGING and feel so grown up wearing them. They match me now!
We set goals for the day. Walk 10,000 steps or spend 45 minutes being active with my kids. We bring a football, wiffle ball set, and a frizz bee wherever we go. There are so many ways to stay healthy on trips. We spend most our time walking and exploring new areas. Decide to be active and you will!
2.We SWIM A LOT!! Swimming is such a great way for kids to stay active. When you travel find a hotel with a pool. It will add so much to your family trip. We found so many great SWIMSUITS for the kids at ivivva. All you need is one or two to get you through the summer. I know my girls are picky with their swimsuits and they must be comfortable. They love the REVERSIBLE SUITS with UV PROTECTION. UV protection, yes please! You get two options in one suit. Win,WIN!
3.Plan a set family walk every single evening. My kids look forward to 7:00pm walks at the beach during the summer. We take our dog out and get walking. Half the time we don’t even realize how far we walked because we end up running into friends and having so much fun.
4.If your family needs a yummy ice cream treat, plan to walk to the location. Or set up a ball game after indulging a bit. Use treats to your advantage! We also love to invite friends for treats so we end up playing games with them after.
5.Explore new things. Sign up for a kid + mom yoga class. Pick up sailing together or a sport that is new and exciting. Plan nature walks or plan out hikes in your area. When we travel we decide on one physical activity each day with the kids. The key is to PLAN!!! This will make you successful and your kids will be happier being active. There are so many great teaching moments that happen while being active together. It’s the one thing I’m most passionate about as a mom. I have to stay active so I can lead by example.
My girls made a summer wishlist. Check it out!
