denim dress + 3 things on my mind…

Isabel Marant Denim Dress | Chloe Wedges

1. I got my hair cut yesterday. Over the past year I’ve lost a lot of hair. I went from having long healthy locks to a slew of broken pieces. I’m not sure what the deal is? Is it birth control, stress, age, color, topknots, all of the above? If you have any thoughts or suggestions, please comment. Side note: I just reordered two of my favorite styling products. THIS shine spray and THIS dry texture spray. They are amazing!

2. Kendra Scott recently came out with some incredible pieces for spring! I’m wearing THIS ring set daily along with THIS stack of bracelets!

3. With temps reaching 85 this week at the beach, I’ve been online looking for new suits. How amazing is THIS one piece? My friends at Boys + Arrows recently made their way into Nordstrom. I love seeing local brands I love grow! IMG_3224

  1. I experienced horrible breakage and my new hairdresser traced it to me re-styling my hair with a flat iron after I’d used dry texture spray or dry shampoo. They are, by design, drying to start. Putting heat on top bakes the product in to your hair and causes the hair to really dry out and become brittle. I’ve had to be careful to only use those products right at the root and add a protective balm to the ends every day to keep them soft. I have a lot of fine hair that is very susceptible to damage.

  2. About your hair, I think it’s a combination. The weather is so dry here in az, but you’re at the beach so maybe that’s not it. I think age, coloring and messing with your hair too much doesn’t help. Are you using a heat protector before using your hot tools or going out in the sun? I would try really hard to let your hair airy dry as much as possible, use a heat protector, and use a coconut oil on the mid shaft and ends of your hair daily.
I use to have thick, luscious hair before I had all my kids and note it’s thin and breaking. You could ask your stylist to do a repair treatment on your hair with olaplex. It’s amazing stuff and worth every penny!

    You look beautiful as always!

  3. I have hypothyroidism so I struggle with hair loss. My endocrinologist has told me that stress can also be a cause of hair loss as well. So, between the two, I’m always experiencing hair loss! Ugh! I have tried so many things, and the one product I love the most and that I can tell makes a difference is Kerastase Initialiste. I swear by it! I cut 6 inches off of my hair in January, as well, for the same reasons.

  4. I have had the same with my hair over the last 2 years…I thought it was due to pregnancy but have found that is not the case. I hardly use any heat on it and rarely pull it up…I am starting to think it might be age for me 🙁 It seems to do it when it gets to a certain length. Good luck and let me know if you find any solutions…a hairdresser friend suggested a Bosley product that helps with growth, thickening and overall health!
