5 things on my mind..

5 things on my mind:

1. I know most of the west coast has already gone back to school. We start in two weeks and I’m actually really bummed about it. I’m not ready to trade in late nights at the beach, sleeping in, week night sitters for packing lunches, early mornings, and endless homework between after school activities. Sometimes I’m tempted to home school my kids like my neighbor does and then I realized Avery and Poppy have already surpassed my knowledge on any given subject. It might be time to hire a tutor.

2. Bachelor in Paradise stole an hour(actually 43 mins thanks to DVR)of my life tonight. I can’t believe I watch that crap. Actually, I can believe it. It just sounds better saying I can’t.:)

3. I find myself trying to use ! when I write this blog. In real life, I’m extremely monotone and sarcastic with very little fluctuation in my voice. When I add a ! I almost feel like I’m lying to you all because I don’t really get that excited about what I wrote. I apologize. Except Friday 5’s, I really do get excited to share my favorites from the week! (see, I did it again)

4. I’m turing 35 this week and I’m already dreading it. I used to LOVE birthdays. My parents did the best job making us feel especially special on our birthday. It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I started to get super bummed about it. 30 is also the year I discovered back fat and got divorced, which are separate issues but maybe they do go together? My kids are so fascinated by my age. I’ve convinced Goldie that I’m 27. So as long as I’ve fooled one person (even if she’s 4), I feel better.

5. Have you read The 5 Love Languages? I’m sure many of you have. I was on a date recently and the guy brought this book up which I read years ago. He asked me mine and I told him Words of Affirmation is my #1 followed by Physical Touch. I felt like I had to ask his thinking it would for sure be physical touch, right? Nope, his #1 was gifts. The guy likes getting gifts and said his last was physical touch. I found that so odd, but maybe it’s normal?
