New York, New York with Sole Society

The nights are finally cooling down in NY and I couldn’t be happier. Fall is my favorite time of year. Really, I wait all summer for it to come. Sometimes I can’t enjoy summer because I’m so excited for September. Now that it’s almost here I’m constantly tearing pages out of magazines for all things fall. Especially anything I can bake with pumpkins and spices. I recently  found these super transitional booties by Sole Society. You can’t beat the price with them being under $90! They will get me through August and will be the perfect bootie for dresses, jeans, etc.

I have to tell you guys the craziest NYC moment I had with cabs. This picture reminds me of it. When my 3 kids were 3 years old and younger, (Davis 3 1/2, Gwen 17mths, Chloe 3 months) I flew to Arizona by myself and then flew back with my awesome brother in law, Mark. Anyways we were in the taxi cab heading to Manhattan from JFK airport.  I have theeee worst motion sickness. I mean sometimes I get sick while I’m driving myself to Target. I got so sick in the cab I started throwing up. So, I was yelling at the cab driver to roll down the windows because they were locked. We quickly realized he didn’t speak english. So as I was  straddling over Chloe’s infant car seat trying to get my head out the window, Gwen and Davis were  frantically screaming. The cab driver decided it was best to slam on his breaks in the middle of the freeway. As he’s doing this my head is out the window (throwing up) and I realized all the cars behind us were  swirving and slamming on their breaks because we stopped right in the middle of (60+mph) traffic.  I seriously thought I wouldn’t live to see another day. Anyways, Mark started yelling at him, made him speed up again and I promised myself right in that moment that I would never ever ever  take my 3 precious angels in a cab again. To this day I have lived up to that promise. We take  the train, UBER or a black car when we are with my kids. I’m so thankful our angels protected us that day!
