SNOO by Happiest Baby

The one item I was most excited to test with Ozzy was the SNOO by Happiest Baby. I first told you about it in my BABY REGISTRY post. This bassinet is not only beautiful, but it’s designed to soothe your baby with it’s custom swaddle and gentle rocking motion. The SNOO also has a built-in speaker to provide white noise while your baby drifts off into a sweet sleep. Designed by Dr. Harvey Karp, creator of the 5 S’s ( swaddle, side, shush, sway, suck), the SNOO has built-in clips that attach to it’s swaddle sack. This prevents babies from rolling over and allows baby to sleep safely on their back at all times.

I want to give a honest review of this bassinet because it is a high priced item. I understand not everyone can afford a baby bassinet that costs $1,160. Happiest Baby breaks down the price to $7/per night for 6 month’s. If you are like me and your baby is inconsolable in the night, you’d probably be willing to pay a lot more to soothe them, even for your own sanity:). Lisa Allen with Baby Ozzy in the SNOO by Happiest Baby

Ozzy is 2 months old today. Wow, that went quick! Here is our experience with the SNOO: the night we brought Oz home from the hospital (24 hours after delivery) I couldn’t wait to test the SNOO. Jeff had already set it up right next to our bed, so I put her in the swaddle and turned it on. She hated it. As her cry grew louder, the SNOO moved faster. It didn’t calm her down. I took her out and held her and she immediately fell asleep. I freaked out. Why? Because I had just wrote the BABY REGISTRY post and given away one of these magical bassinets to a reader. I thought I had failed you guys.

I emailed Happiest Baby and let them know Ozzy wasn’t a fan. They wrote back and told me to try again and this time to let her cry for a few mins. So I did, two weeks later. Guess what happened? She fell right to sleep and stayed asleep. Like I had to wake her up to feed her, she was that content in the SNOO. It’s been huge help with Ozzy’s sleeping. They refer to the SNOO as a nighttime nurse, and I couldn’t agree more! Lisa Allen with Baby Ozzy in the SNOO by Happiest Baby

  1. Did it take 2 weeks in the SNOO for ozzy to stop crying and love it? It appears that way by the post but how do you know t was the snoo and not jut letting her learn how to self sooothe. It is a huge investment for our family but we are
Willing if it is worth it.

    • I put her in the SNOO right after she was born and she wasn’t a fan. I then waited until she was 2 weeks old to try again and she has loved it since.
The moment I lay her in the SNOO and turn it on she stops crying and falls asleep within 10 mins. We don’t have the same results putting her in her crib.
It is an investment and not for everyone. Our family has loved it. I believe they have a 30 day money back guarantee.
