Summer REDS + Messy Waves/Hair tips

Lately I’m obsessed with RED!Red. Red. Red. It’s everywhere I look! It’s also a great color year round, but this summer  it’s making a statement. It’s not a color I usually wear but lately I have it on, non-stop!

I loved allllll the RED LIP favorites you gals recommended on Sunday’s Q&A (question #9).

This RUFFLE MIDI DRESS  below I honestly wore for 4 days straight when I got it! I also wore it with a grey and white fitted tee under it. So many ways to style this beauty of a dress.

MESSY HAIR TIPS

To achieve the best messy waves, start with dirty hair! I like to do mine on day 2 or 3, but if I just washed it and still want to get the look I’ll add THIS to my roots as I dry my hair. Don’t go crazy, about 4-5 sprays is all you need. Then blow-dry as usual. I love THIS T3 DRYER and also THIS one from DRYBAR.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love this DRY SHAMPOO and this DRY TEXTURIZING SPRAY. If you buy one product, let it be THIS. Total game changer and the smell is incredible! I add both to my roots starting with the dry shampoo. Once that dries I’ll add some texture spray.

Next, I like to section my hair off into 4 sections and curl everything away from my face using this 1.5 IRON. I always always always hold my wand straight up and down! After each section is finished, let your hair cool down and then finger comb, making sure to shake up your roots for volume.

Guess what? I use two irons..I think the best way to get a messy look is by using a SMALLER WAND and taking small sections and curling each piece different after you’ve curled your whole head with the 1.5 inch. So that means curl some pieces toward your face and some away from your face. This is what will make your waves look messy.

Up next, more DRY TEXTURIZING SPRAY! I don’t skimp on this product, just keep spraying. Then shake up your hair once more and that’s it! You may want to keep the small wand plugged in and touch up any areas that need a little more curl. I don’t use hairspray, but I like to add some shine spray at the end and I love THIS ONE!

Tip: Add dry shampoo to your roots at night and secure your hair up in a very loose bun with a bobby pin. The next day, release your bun and shake your hair out. This will help maintain another 1-2 days of styled hair before you need to wash again. Let me know if you have any questions! I’m here to help and I swear a video is in the works!
