How to STAY on TRACK while TRAVELING
2. Share meals. When we travel we tend to try lots of places throughout the day. I have the kids share meals and Jeff and I will share. This allows us to stop at fun pastry/candy shops and have treats. This tip saves you a lot of money and a ton of calories/fat throughout your trip.
3. Stop at the store. We always look for a grocery store wherever we end up and grab fruits and vegetables to keep in the car/hotel. We’ll eat for this for breakfast and again at night when the kids say they are hungry before bed. Otherwise we end up starting the day with a heavy meal that makes everyone feel sluggish throughout the day. Also, saves major money!
4. Chew gum! I love a good road trip, but end up eating crappy snacks out of boredom. I like to get sugar free packs of gum in flavors to curb my bored appetite. I always buy watermelon, strawberry and spearmint.
5. Enjoy. It’s good to be aware of what you are eating on vacation. You will feel so much better if you don’t overeat. That being said, enjoy yourself! Try new things. Get dessert. But just have a few bites. Avoid licking the plate clean 😉
