Real mom: Paige Christensen + giveaway

We at L&L are fascinated by the modern mom. 

So much so, we're starting a series featuring mothers who inspire, have a story to tell, run their own business, love life and most importantly are real! 

My name is Paige Christensen and I’m so excited to be able to have this feature on Lunch Pails & Lipstick. I’ve been a fan for a while now and never thought I’d have the opportunity to be featured!

            First things first, I’m married to one of the biggest fashionista’s I know. His name is Ben Christensen; he’s a photographer and graphic designer. I’m assuming being a photographer you’re always around the latest and greatest when it comes to style so maybe it just comes with the territory? Either way I’m always trying to keep up with him. I wouldn’t have it any other way though because I think his lifestyle is what gives him so many opportunities. He’s a photographer for several companies along with being a lifestyle and wedding photographer. I’ve loved assisting for him not only because we’ve been able to travel all over, but also because we’ve met some pretty amazing people along the way.             This past October we added a new little lady to our family (no, not another dog as most who know me would assume). We have a girl named Milo who is now three months old. I don’t know if I just have mom goggles on but I think she’s kinda the cutest thing of all time. She has this smile I call the Gremlin smile, she wrinkles up her nose on one side and almost tilts her forehead forward making it look a little evil, I love it.

            I’m a certified Physical Therapist Assistant but just love the mom life right now! I’ve been doing a lot of paintings and sketches in the mean time that I’ve been selling. Most, if not all of my clients have found me via Instagram. I first began painting my own animals and family and once I posted them up on Instagram I started getting more and more requests for custom paintings. I couldn’t believe it, its one thing to do you’re own little paintings here and there but to be getting others who want you to do the same for them is so flattering.

I owe all of my artistic abilities to my mom. Growing up she always wanted to be an artist but her parents wouldn’t let her, they decided it wouldn’t be a promising future for her. My mom graduated college but continued art as a side hobby. I remember almost every week going to the craft store with her and being able to pick out some kind of new project to do. I can’t wait to pass on this tradition with my kids.

 The first thing I do in the morning is walk to the kitchen and put a water bottle in the freezer. I’ll wait till its semi frozen, slushy style, and put a Crystal Light Wild Strawberry energy packet in it. A mom needs an energy boost right?! Not to mention a 32 oz Diet Dr Pepper run is made later that day.. But if you haven’t tried it, you need to. I’m a little obsessed.

            I used to stay fit by working out daily, I love to exercise but mom life just isn’t that giving when it comes to spare time. Any additional weigh loss I’ve had after being pregnant I owe to breast-feeding. Right now I’m a floppy noodle with no muscle.

            I’m probably the world’s worst person to ask about beauty items. I don’t put any product in my hair, haven’t even had a trim in a year! Does putting baby powder in your hair to mask the grease count as a beauty product?

            My favorite healthy snack is Lite n’ Fit yogurt with frozen raspberries.

            My last vacation was to Encinitas, California to visit some friends. Although, I’ve never been to San Francisco so we’re hoping to go next month for our four-year anniversary!

            My guilty pleasure is a toss up between ice cream and Bahama Bucks in Mesa, AZ. Or you can mix the two and get a bahama rama mama Bahama Bucks with cream (ice cream is included). It’s heavenly.

            I think all moms need some kind of a hobby, mine is crafting or painting. If I didn’t have some sort of a hobby to turn to as a mom I think I may go crazy! Their are many super mom’s out there though so it may just be me.

            My me time would have to be hiking, I love being outside.
